It’s that time of year again! Break out your costumes, grab a bucket (and coats and gloves) and prepare your best ‘Trick or Treat’. Its Halloween! It is a great time of year for options to get out and do things with friends and family of any age. Around Halloween, you can find activities of all kind. Let us lay out the 2017 landscape of things to do in Idaho Falls on Halloween.
We are going to try and cover a broad range of activities, as well as keep it local to SE Idaho. We can’t cover everything, but feel free to leave us feedback on your personal Halloween favorites.
Dr. Slaughters Carnival of Fear
Idaho Falls
This is an Idaho Falls staple. Dr. Slaughters has been providing Idaho Falls with fear and fun for as long as we can remember. According to the Dr. Slaughters website, they are the largest non-profit, all indoor haunted house in Southeast Idaho. Fundraising for the Local D.A.R.E Project in the Idaho Falls area. New to 2017, they are providing 3-d glasses to take your experience to the next level. This tops the ‘can’t miss’ list. Boo at The Zoo

Boo at the Zoo is a 3 day event held at the Tautphaus Park Zoo in late October. This event is promoted as a ‘merry not scary’ night out. It sounds like something the little ones would really enjoy, or those looking to have the Halloween theme without the Halloween scream. As you walk throughout the zoo, you will experience sculptures, 1,000+ pumpkins, nearly half a million lights, and trick-or-treat stops scattered around.
Gates are open from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and it is suggested you buy tickets in advance. This year the dates are October 26 – October 28. Check out Event Brite for tickets to this event in Idaho Falls.
Squealers Corn Maze
Rigby
Squealers Fun Park can be found on the North side of Rigby not far from Rigby lake. They offer year round activities and this time of the year just happens to be one of the best! You not only get the corn maze, but the rest of the park is still open! Mini golf, go-karts, batting cages, bumper boats…the list goes on and on. The Squealers Facebook page seems to keep the most up to date information on hours and current promotions. Be sure to check the page out before you go and save a little cash!
The Theater of Lost Souls

The Theater of Lost Souls in Shelley has become a local favorite during the Halloween season. Once your inside it doesn’t take long to understand why so many people make the drive to experience this attraction. The theater itself has been around for over 100 years. Multiple owners have come and gone over the years, each with their own unique (and spooky) story. The citizens of Shelley as well as current and former employees of the theatre will tell you it is ACTUALLY Haunted, and not just an attraction. Care to find out for yourself?
The Theatre of Lost Souls is open 7 – 9:30 on the weekdays and 7 – 1AM on the weekends. Be sure to visit…if you dare!
U-Pick Pumpkin Patch

The U-Pick Pumpkin Patch is a ‘complex’ of fun Halloween/Fall activities. We absolutely love what they are doing and we know you will too. They have expanded their list of activities for the 2017 season. If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet this might be the best year to visit. From train rides, feeding chickens & pheasants, and of course picking pumpkins, there is an activity for everyone. We hear the mini donuts being served this year are worth the trip themselves. The U-Pick Pumpkin Patch is centered around a 1930’s era picture perfect red barn. It really is the essence of fall time fun.
